This is a nice running option in northeastern Charlotte, combining the Mallard Creek Greenway and Clarks Creek Greenways. Run them separately or mix & match! Surface is a combination of Gravel/Crushed stone & pavement.

Mallard Creek Greenway. This mainly paved multi-use trail runs for 5 miles east-west along Mallard Creek. The western end is at Amaranthus Ct. Head east, crossing Harris Blvd. At 1.6 miles, intersect with the Clarks Creek Greenway, which heads north for up to 2.5 miles. Continue east, crossing I-85. At 4.3 miles, intersect with the Toby Creek Greenway, which heads south for 0.5 miles to the UNC Charlotte campus (and continues for a total 2.8 miles). A nice section is the eastern 1.5 miles, passing through a wetland area, ending at Kirk Farm Fields Park.

Clarks Creek Greenway. This trail runs north for 2.5 miles from where it intersects with the Mallard Creek Greenway near Mallard Creek Rd. It’s a mainly wooded trail following the narrow Clarks Creek. The north end is at Fairlea Dr. There are several other access points to the trail.

Toby Creek Greenway. This paved trail comes off the Mallard Creek Greenway @North Tryon St. It heads south for 0.5 miles to the UNC Charlotte Campus and following Toby Creek for a total of 2.8 miles, ending at Rocky River Rd.
