This beautiful land trust in Leverett, just north of Amherst, contains a large gulch, tumbles of boulders, and a hill complete with a scenic overlook. 4 miles of easy trail and not-too-steep discontinued dirt roads wind through the whole of the property, making this a peaceful “trail” run without the technicalities of lesser-maintained trails. Access starts from the parking area on the west end of Rattlesnake Gutter Road (just off Montague Road). Park at the gate and set out east on the wide gravel path along the stream. Turn LEFT onto the red-blazed connector trail, then connect to the blue-blazed Rattlesnake Hill Loop which leads to the top of the overlook. Backtrack to Rattlesnake Gutter Road, or make it a full loop by using Whitney Road and Old Cave Hill Road to return to the start.
