If you’re visiting Acapulco, there’s a good chance you came to spend some time on the beach. Don’t let that get in the way of your running routine — the beaches of Acapulco Bay offer about 6 km of running. The sand is a little on the soft side, but it’s relatively flat and firm at low tide. Runners can begin at Playa Las Hamacas and continue east to the rocks at the Fiesta Americana. It’s 3 km one way, or 6 km out and back. Here, the beach is divided by a rocky spit, but it’s possible to run another 3 km along Playa Icacos on the east side, between the Holiday Inn and the Naval Base. Bonus: on the west end, runners can continue along Av. Costera Miguel Aleman on the Malecón de Acapulco.

Run the waterfront of Acapulco’s Tradicional/Las Playas area. Follow Av. Costera Miguel Aleman and Paseo del Pecador for sidewalks and paths.
The Papagayo park is a nice, shaded area to run some loops. The central path is 1 km, but can be combined with the beach or the Malecón de Acapulco.
Another good option for laps in the Deportivo area. The International Center loop is 1.5 km from the Glorieta statue.
A nice long option near the airport, following a wide sidewalk along a moderately trafficked road. Starts near La Isla Shopping Village.
Another option near the Diamond Zone is the palm-lined Costera de Las Palmas/Vidafel Road. It’s a simple sidewalk, but there are some nice sections, especially bordering the Vidanta Golf Course.
Watch the cliff divers jump from the La Quebrada viewing platform after running this scenic 1 km oceanfront walkway. Connect to the Malecón de Acapulco route for more distance.
