Alanya is a resort at the eastern end of the Turkish Riviera, known for its wide beaches and 13th-century castle. The best place to run in Alanya is the seafront promenade, a mainly dedicated path that runs for 6.7 km between the Castle and the D400. The beach itself isn’t great for running — the sand tends to be soft and pebbly, even close to the water.

A good place to start is in the castle area, at Kızılkule, the Iconic 13th-century octagonal tower. Start with a jaunt out the pier to the lighthouse, and then continue east on the red-bricked, palm-lined promenade path. It’s a festive scene, with great views of the Mediterranean, surrounding mountains, and lots of hotels & restaurants. Continue for up to 6.7 km to the D400.
Add-Ons: Explore the roads & paths around the Castle area and the older sections of Alanya
