Thanks to friend of Great Runs Kassie Helm, who suggested this countryside route in Rotherwick, a small town located 12 miles south of Reading. It’s a lovely 9-mile run through gorgeous British countryside on lightly trafficked roads and narrow country lanes. The terrain is open and rolling, with quaint homes along the way. The full route is 9 miles, but can be shortened by eliminating the ~2.5 mile West Green loop.
Kassie Helm
Start in Rotherwick, and follow Cowfold Ln. for 1.5 miles to West Green. Turn RIGHT and head east on an unnamed road for 1 mile toward Dipley, then continue south for 0.5 miles toward West Green. There, the long run does a 2.5 mile counterclockwise loop past West Green using Thackham’s Ln.-Grange Ln.-West Green Rd. Following the loop, retrace your steps, with an optional 0.8 mile out and back on scenic Stoken Ln.
