Curragh Chase Forest Park, located a 1/2-hour drive west of Limerick, is a worth-it spot for a destination run. This planned landscape of the former home of the de Vere family features 300 hectares of rolling parkland, trails, mixed woodland, lakes, and an arboretum. There are six designated walking trails at Curragh Chase, of varying length, ability, and terrain. Good bets for running:

Lake Trail: 1.1 km around a lake

Multi-Use Trails: The 2.4 km Curragh Trail and 3.6 km Glenisca Trail are pleasant, forested trails featuring the wider forest passing an old cave, limestone outcrops and the Yew woodland.
