The MRK Trail is one of a few inland multi-use paths in the Racine/Kenosha area that are good for as longer off-road run. This rails-to-trails trail is a crushed stone surface and extends for 4.7 miles from Racine north to the Village of Caledonia. The trail has more of an industrial than a scenic feel, paralleling a railroad and with power lines along it.
The Racine end starts at Layard Ave. just west of Highway 32. The north end is at 6 Mile Road. There’s a parking lot at 3 Mile Road.
Add-Ons: Pick up the Root River Pathway off Layard Ave.
