This ‘runseeing’ tour of Gdańsk hits many of the city’s important sites, and is nearly all on pedestrian-only paths. The route combines the streets of Gdańsk Main City, paths along the Motwala River, and a park-like area near the main train station. There are ~6 km & ~9.5 km options.
Ulica Długa. CC 2.0 Ting Chen
Start at Dariusz Kobzdej Square, and make your way to the Ulica Długa — a pedestrian thoroughfare reconstructed in historical style that’s also a market area. Run for 0.5 km to the Green Bridge (Zielony Most), and turn LEFT, heading north along the Motwala River on a dedicated stone-surfaced path. Run for 1 km, enjoying the views of the water and Gdańsk main city. Then, continue on the paths for 0.5 km along the river, passing the important Museum of the Second World War. Double back, crossing the footbridge to Ołowianka, an island that’s a tourist attraction featuring an Observation Wheel, gorgeous Philharmonic Centre, and Maritime Museum. Continue back south along the riverside paths, and then cross back over the Kładka obrotowa św. Ducha bridge, running through the historical centre along Świętego Ducha. Here, the short route ends at 6 km.
Longer Option: This loop adds 3.5 km. Cross the main road over the railroad tracks, running along Nowe Ogrody, to Park Śródmieście. Here’s there’s a series of paths through a mainly wooded, hillside park, passing by several old fortresses and bunkers and featuring great views of Gdańsk Main City and the river. The loop is ~2 km. Return to the start using Nowe Ogrody.

Just south of Gdańsk Main City is a nice run along the Opływ Motławy Canal, passing by several historic fortresses (Bastion). The are dedicated, mainly brick-surfaced paths along both sides of the lake. Mix of open & wooded landscape, with water views. Full loop is 7 km.
A pleasant ~10k run combining Park Steffensów, Park Akademicki, Gdańsk University of Technology, and Jaśkowa Valley Park. We've mapped a route to use as a guideline, but note there are numerous paths & start point options.
Great trail running spot in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, west of Gdańsk. Large forest park with many km of mainly forested trails. Note: hilly. There are trails on the north and south sides of the Juliusza Słowackiego highway. Especially beautiful in autumn!
Paved multi-use path that runs for 5.4 km south along the beach from President Ronald Reagan Park to Zachodni lighthouse. Additional paths in Reagan Park & Brzeźnieński Park. Can extend north to Sopot & Gdynia, including Northern Park.
A paved multi-use path runs along the beach for up to 8.6 km from Ronald Reagan Park north to Orłowo/Gdynia, including two piers. Additional paths in Northern Park. Can extend for another 5.4 km south from Reagan Park to Zachodni Lighthouse.
Take a 25-minute train ride from Gdańsk to access this scenic 7.7 km run in Gdynia, featuring the marina, waterfront promenade, and a couple of parks. Gdynia is a port city of 250,000, located on the Baltic coast 20 km north of Gdańsk.
Near the centre, enjoy forested, hilly trails in Wiata wypoczynkowa im.Cichego Wojownika. The coastal Polanka Redłowska hiking area also features wooded, hilly trails and sits between the waterfront promenades in Gdańsk & Gdynia.
