If you’re in downtown Orlando, the running options are a mixed bag. It’s a bit of an urban jungle, but there are also several pleasant lakes, and a downtown Urban Trail that make for some decent running. We’ve put together two central Orlando tours that can be mix & matched.
This run is another good option near downtown. This route, which starts at Gaston Edward Park, 2 miles north of Lake Eola, follows lakeside paths and roads, plus the Orlando Urban Trail. The run incorporates 6 lakes: Ivanhoe, Highland, Rowena, Estelle, Sue, and Winya. Not all of them have full loops or dedicated jogging paths, but they’re pleasant for running nonetheles. Other landmarks include the Orlando Science Center, Orlando Museum of Art, and the Botanical Garden.
