Popular for biking and running, the West Orange Trail is a world-class rail trail through urban and suburban sections of Orange County, 15 miles northwest of Orlando. The trail runs from the Killarney Station trailhead on SR50 west of Oakland, through Winter Garden and to Apopka, ending at Welch Road. A spur at Killarney Station connects to the South Lake/Minneola Scenic Trail.

One of our two central Orlando running routes, this one is focused on the CBD and loops of Lake Oeola (0.8 miles) and Lake Ivanhoe (~3 miles). Mix & match with our Orlando Urban Trail & Lakes tour.
Another good option near downtown. The run incorporates Gaston Edward Park several small lakes, the Orlando Science Center, Orlando Museum of Art, and the Botanical Garden.
Two pleasant, paved multi-use paths northeast of downtown. The Cady Way Trail is a 5.8 miles from Fashion Square Mall to Cady Way Park. Can connect to the trail around Baldwin Lake & Baldwin Park, up to 4.3 miles.
A worthwhile destination 15 miles northeast of downtown. The park has a nice running track and there's 2.5 mile tour around the lake. Also connects to the Cady Way Trail, which continues another ~5 miles north toward Winter Park.
Winter Park is a pleasant suburb 7 miles north of Orlando. Our “highlights of Winter Park” run includes the cute, shaded Park Ave., a jaunt out to Lake Maitland and the Kraft Azalea Garden, and some lovely residential streets.
Runners travel from afar to experience this 10-mile loop on a dirt road, 25 miles west of Orlando. Quiet, rural road passing farmland. Rolling hills! Popular road race in fall.
Lovely state park 1/2 hour drive from Orlando. More than 20 miles of wide, runnable trails with views to lakes and marshes. Even some elevation! The park is popular for swimming and water activities. Well-marked loop options.
Good off-road running option in Southwest Orlando. The 8.5 mile paved multi-use path runs from Eagle Nest Park south to Destination Blvd., near the Orange County Convention Ctr. Not always the most scenic! At Eagle Nest Park, there's a 2.4 mile trail around Lake Fran.
Don’t despair if you get stuck at one of the Convention Center hotels. There is nice, paved path along International Drive. We’ve created a 4.7 mile north-south route. Note: a couple of sections lack sidewalks.
A comprehensive guide to the best areas for running in the Disney area. Both inside the park and outside. There are some good options but it takes some planning.
Some pleasant running in this master planned community in southeast Orlando, not far from the Airport. Quiet, residential streets, small parks, and pedestrian paths. Village Walk area and Laureate Park area are good anchor points.
Run on what was at one time the the longest railroad in the country! This paved multi-use trail extends for nearly 14 miles north from Altamonte Springs to the Wekiva Falls RV Resort. Wooded and residential areas. Several trailheads with facilities.
About 70 miles east of Orlando, Cocoa Beach is one of the greats for beach running in North America. You can run for nearly 10 miles along this wide beach, and at mid to low tide, the surface is firm and fantastic for running.
