Eastern Mangroves Promenade

The Eastern Mangroves Promenade promenade is one of the better off-road running options in Abu Dhabi. It’s adjacent to Mangrove National Park — a popular area for kayaking, and more recently, an area that’s been developed as a walking, dining, and shopping destination. A path follows the waterfront, adjacent to the E10 highway, from the Alseef Village area (Al Murouj St.) west to Dolphin Park. It’s 9 km one-way, including  a 2 km out and back out a jetty at the eastern end of the Promenade. The views of the water and Mangrove Park are lovely. There are a few short sections where the path is interrupted, but the smaller roads are fine for running. There are ample facilities along the way to get a drink or use a restroom.  Bonus: Well lit at night!

Essentials
  • Up to 9 km (5.6 miles) one-way (includes ~2.6 km out and back on jetty)
  • Flat
  • East: Al Murouj St. near Alseef Village; West: Dolphin Park
