Ala Moana Park contains a beach and grassy area that is routinely flooded by Oahu athletes on evenings and weekends. The park is 3 miles east of downtown and 2 miles west of Waikiki Beach. The 3-mile loop is a nice combination of waterfront promenade along Ala Moana Beach, a loop around Magic Island which features great views of the Honolulu skyline and Diamond Head, and a section on the park side of the Ala Wai Canal. The route is all on wide sidewalks.
Longer Run Options: While this is a great self-contained 5k, there’s a great opportunity to extend with our Ala Wai Canal loop. Take the narrow path along the canal headed east toward Ala Wai Community Park. It’s a bit tricky getting across Ala Wai Blvd. & Kalākaua Ave.
