French Broad River Greenway

The paved French Broad River Greenway, located 3 miles south of Asheville, follows the area’s major river for 2.7-miles from French Broad River Park, through Carrier Park, to Hominy Creek River Park. There are water and restroom facilities at Carrier Park. Much of the trail is beautifully shaded, with occasional river views. Also notice the Farm Trail on the opposite side of the river…but tough to do a loop since there aren’t any bridges.

Much of this route covers the course of the Wedge Run, an 8.6-mile Thursday night group run on the Asheville Running Collective. They extend the route to the north on Lyman Street to the Wedge Brewery.
