In the Wedding district of Germany, one of our favorite runs is to combine Volkspark Rehberge with neighboring Goethepark. Add some paths along the river in Nordhafen for a run of nearly 9 km.
The centerpiece of the run is Volkspark Rehberge, The 115-hectare park features several km of lovely paths through woods and around open green spaces. The park dates to the 1920s and is located near the former Tegel airport (now closed). A loop of the paths is ~3 km. Be sure to include the Rathenau Fountain and the three natural lakes. There’s a running track at Stadion Rehberge. Pro Tip: post-run dip in the Plötzensee, in season!
Continue into Goethepark, just south, and then access the path along the north bank of the river/canal, which runs east for ~2 km to the Nordhafen lake. It’s dirt surfaced and a bit narrow. Retrace your steps, and then complete a loop through the parks.
Shorter Option: Eliminate the river/canal path.
