Saint Antone/Roman Road

Gilles Douaire

A quiet, scenic road running option about 20 km west of Beaune, the “Roman Road” through the Cossane Valley is highly recommended from the team at Beaune Tourism. Starting from the village of Nolay, the route travels under an ivy-covered aqueduct, crosses through Cormot-Vauchignon and Cormot-la-Petit along the riverbanks, then climbs a plateau for great views before returning to the parking area. While local traffic does utilize some sections of this route, there’s also a good chance you’ll have the road to yourself!

Essentials
  • 5.9 km (3.7 mile) loop
  • 179m (587 feet)
