Chengdu Center ‘Runseeing’ Tour

In spite of its busyness, downtown Chengdu is a great space for a run. There are wide sidewalks, pedestrian-only spaces, and plenty of interesting architectural and tourist sites. Runners can explore all the best of Chengdu on this 16 km tour. Do the whole loop or pick a section. Much of the route is through parks, large squares, and 5 km of paths along the Jinjiang River.

We start from ChunXi Road and the Jinjiang District shopping area. Pass through Jinhuaguan National Park, then follow Renmin Road to Tianfu Square. Tour the square, run into People’s Park (4k mark), then head north to the Kuan Alley and Zhai Alley pedestrian shopping center. Head south along the Xijiao River, then take a trip through Culture Park (South Gate). The next section heads east along the north bank of Jinjiang River for 5.5 km. (there are paths along most of the waterfront). After the famous Anshun Bridge, turn LEFT and run north along the Fuhe River. Turn LEFT again at the Dongmen Bridge to return to the start.
