In the southern part of Fort Collins, there’s some pleasant off-road running in the Fossil Creek Reservoir Area. There are two sections of this run, together adding up to nearly 6 miles. At the southern end of the Reservoir, there are gravel trails that add up to a loop of ~2.7 miles. It’s open terrain, with some reservoir views. Then, take the trail south for 0.7 miles, to do the ~0.5 mile loop on concrete paths around Eagle Ranch Lake and another small adjacent lake that are part of a residential area. You can add with the quiet residential streets in the area.
There’s parking and restrooms.
