The Spring Creek Trail is one of our favorite places to run in Fort Collins. Located in the southern part of the city, the paved trail passes through several parks and green spaces in its 7.5 mile journey. It’s also the best longer-distance trail near the CSU Campus.
The eastern end is at the Cattail Chorus Natural Area, at the intersection with the Poudre Trail just north of E Prospect Rd. Head west, passing through Edora Park & Spring Park. At the ~3 mile mark, cross College Ave. (access to CSU Campus), and then the The Gardens on Spring Creek, a small botanical garden. At 4.5 miles is Rolland Moore Park, where there are additional trails. The final mile at the western end is in Spring Canyon Park, a large, open area with athletic facilities and additional trails there and in the adjacent Pineridge Natural Area.
