Just West of Fort Collins, Horsetooth Mountain Open Space is a great spot for some moderate to challenging trail running. The 2,711-acre area features 29 miles of trails, covering elevations from 5,430 to 7,255 feet. It’s incredibly scenic, with great views of the Front Range, the Horsetooth Reservoir, and sites including Horsetooth Rock and Horsetooth Falls (in the spring).
