Cox Arboretum MetroPark

Cox Arboretum MetroPark is a lovely spot for a run south of Dayton. This 174-acre park features a nice collection of trees, shrubs, specialty gardens, mature forests and prairies. There are 3-4 miles of trails in the park. Combine the Yellow and Red trails for a ~2.5 mile loop. Nice mix of terrain and scenery.

To make this a longer run, the residential streets just north of the park are quiet and pleasant. Not fancy, but a good place to add some mileage.

Essentials
  • 3-4 miles of trails. Best 'long loop' is 2.5 miles, combining Yellow & Red trails
  • Fairly flat

You can combine the Red and Yellow Trails with the easier paths around the ponds to get a 5k in without running any part of it the same direction twice. I love to run this place.
