Deal, Kingsdown, and Sandown Waterfront Path

There’s wonderful waterfront running in the Deal area on a wide seafront promenade. Deal, which lies where the North Sea and the English Channel meet, is the main town in the area. There’s a centrally located train station. The path extends for 2.5 miles south to Kingsdown Beach, passing the Walmer Castle & Gardens, and for 1 mile north to Sandown. In Sandown, it’s popular to continue north on a gravel path for another ~1 mile.

Combining with White Cliffs of Dover Route.  From Kingsdown Beach, one can access the gorgeous paths atop the famous white chalk cliffs for up to 6.5 miles to Dover. See our route there.  Buses and trains can be used for adventurous one-way runs!
