Griffeen Valley Park

Creative Commons: jwd

For a nice run in the Lucan area of western Dublin, Griffeen Valley Park is a nice option. The 200-acre park is formed from a series of open spaces. It’s a fairly narrow park, with trails running north-south, combination of some woods and open spaces. We’ve mapped a 3.4 mile loop starting at Beech Park Green, just north of the N4 road. There’s also a running track run by the Lucan Harriers, accessed by 0.5 km through the Arthur Griffith Park housing area & sport pitches.

For a nice add-on, Vesey Park is just to the west, and can be entered at Adamstown / Newcastle Road. There are paths around the Vesey Housing estate.

Griffeen Valley Park is also site of a weekly parkrun, Saturdays, 9:30am.
