Fort Wayne, IN

Northside Historic Residential Neighborhoods

https://www.visitfortwayne.com/

This is a ‘create your own route’ run in the attractive Northside neighborhoods, several of which are part of the Fort Wayne Park and Boulevard System Historic District that’s on the National Register of Historic Places. These are tree-lined streets with historic homes, sidewalks, and period lighting.

The best area is north of Lakeside Park, between Crescent Avenue and Coliseum Blvd. (Route 930). Create your own route on these longer, quiet side streets, The Forest Park, North Anthony, and Frances Slocum neighborhoods are the best for running. Among the highlights are the longer, historic north-south boulevards: Forest Park Blvd., Kensington Blvd, & North Anthony Boulevard are all beauties.

Add-Ons: Rivergreenway path south of Lakeside Park, along the Maumee River.

Essentials
  • Create your own route. Can easily put together several miles
  • Relatively flat
