Tesoro Viejo Trails

HoffmanCompany.com

There’s some very nice running in Tesoro Viejo,  a rapidly-growing planned residential community located 16 miles north of downtown Fresno at the foot of Table Mountain.  The community spans 1,600 acres of rolling hills with access to the San Joaquin River, and includes  400 acres of permanently preserved natural open space, parks, trails and recreational areas. This includes 14 miles of trails — a combination of paved and dirt, and ranging from gentle to more challenging. This trail map has an explanation of all the trails.

The signature trail is the 3.5 mile Tesoro Viejo Trail, which begins at Town Center and runs through town. Other trails, which can be combined, include the 1.3 mile Creekside Connection Trail along the water, the hillier Lost Oaks Trail, and the 2-mile Big Canyon Trail. Good opportunity for flats or hill workouts, and some very nice views. The terrain is quite open.
