Greensboro Grand Tour: Downtown, Parks, University, Neighborhoods

Google Street View

This 10k ‘runseeing’ tour is a great taste of Greensboro’s highlights: downtown, parks, universities, and historic neighborhoods. Good options to modify and add-on. Start at Center Park, heading north on Elm St., and then do a loop of Fisher Park, where there are lovely streets in the Fisher Park Historic District. Then take the tree-lined Parkway Ave. to Latham Park. Head south on the Latham Park Greenway & Lake Daniel Greenway for 2 miles through these nice parks, then double back briefly to head south of Lake Daniel Park. The next section, south of Market St., includes lovely paths around Peabody Park and the the bucolic campus of The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Complete the route with the 1 mile return east though the College Hill neighborhood, using Spring Garden Rd.

Add-Ons/Modifications: Enjoy running additional streets in the Fisher Park Historic District, Latham Park, and College Hill. Another option is to continue south on the Lake Daniel Greenway to the Arboretum, using Lindell Rd.
