Guayaquil, Ecuador

Parque Lineal del Estero Salado

One of the best runs on the west end of Guayaquil is the Parque Lineal del Estero Salado near the Universidad de Guayaquil. The multi-use paths form an 8 km loop around the estuary, complete with waterfront views, pristine brick paths, and fun bridge crossings. It’s possible to start anywhere along the route, but the University is a convenient beginning. From here, continue clockwise along the Quisquis bridge, through Plaza Rodolfo Baquerizo Moreno, and along Malecón del Salado. Cross the Ave. 26 SO bridge, then make your way east along Parque Lineal. After Puente 5 de Junio, the path bends north to Plaza del Monociclo. Here, you’ll cross the interesting “Zigzag” Bridge, and turn RIGHT to head back to the University.

Add-On: 1.5 km further north is the Parque Lineal Kennedy Norte path.
