Menaggio Waterfront

Menaggio is a pretty little town located on the western shore of Lake Como at the mouth of the river Senagra. There’s a short, but very pretty waterfront run here, featuring gorgeous lake, town, and mountain views. There are two sections of this run: the main section along the lake is the 1 km promenade along the Viale Benedetto Castelli between Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi and the Cemetery just past City Hall. Then, the Via IV Novembre waterfront road goes south from Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi for 1.5 km to the SS340. This is a busier road, but a narrow sidewalk makes it safe for running, and there are nice views.

Longer Options: The hillside in Menaggio above the water has some narrow streets/stair paths, notably a ~1 km car-free loop involving the Via Strecium and Via per Loveno. You can also pick up the northern end of the Lake Como Greenway trail just south of Ca’ Bianca, off Via IV Novembre at the southern end of our main route.
