The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is a relatively small campus, but the surrounding neighborhoods feature some great roads and trails for running. On the east edge of campus, the Coleman Creek Greenway is a flat and enjoyable paved path. To the west, the paths of Boyle Park offer more shaded running in and around Rock Creek. Many runners also enjoy the trails further north in War Memorial Park. The Sunday Community Run, put on by the Little Rock Roadrunners and the Little Rock Running Club, includes 2.5 mile and 8 mile loops around this area. The 2.5 mile route stays off-road in War Memorial. The 8-mile route, which combines Coleman Creek and Boyle Park, is not always scenic — by necessity it includes some stretches along strip malls and busy roads — but it also covers the nicer paths runners will want to visit in this area.
