Sherbrooke is a city of 200,000, in Quebec’s Estrie region, 100 km east of Montreal. The unofficial capital of the Eastern Townships, Sherbrooke is also the region’s economic, political, cultural, and institutional center. The city lies at the confluence of the Saint-François and Magog rivers. The area is a popular visitor destination for its mountains, rivers, and lakes. We have created separate guides for running in Sherbrooke and the Eastern Townships.
The best places to run in Sherbrooke are paths along the Lac des Nations, Magog & Saint-François rivers, the area around the University of Sherbrooke & Mont-Bellevue, our ‘runseeing‘ tour of the city’s famous 18 Murals, and easy trail running in the Beckett Woods. For many more great runs in the area, see our Eastern Townships running guide.
Runner Notes: The area’s winters are very cold and snowy – the Townships are a major winter recreation destination.
