This is an enjoyable run on a wide waterfront promenade between Los Cuarteros and Santiago de la Ribera. There are open views of the Mar Menor and a festive scene. This can be combined with the adjacent Camino Quintin, part of the Parque Regional de los Arenales y Salinas.

Los Cuarteros and Santiago de la Ribera Promenade

Start at the Plaża Hiszpania at Playa Villananitos (beach). A wide boardwalk follows the waterfront road (which changes names multiple times) south for 5.2 km to Santiago de la Ribera. The palm-lined promenade runs along several beaches, and there are nice water views the whole way. The beaches feature soft sand but can be runnable near the water, situationally. The south end of the path is at Playa Santiago de la Ribera.

Camino Quintin

Near the Plaża Hiszpania, you can pick up the Camino Quintin, which is a 4.2 km paved & gravel dyke path along the Mar Menor. The trail is at the southern end of the Parque Regional de los Arenales y Salinas, which features several km of paths around wetlands, marshes, and a ‘pink lake’. The dyke trail is scenic but a bit monotonous as you run basically along a sand spit. Toward the end of the path is the Molino de La Calcetera (windmill) and the Encañizadas fish traps.

Add-On: More trails in the Parque Salinas
