Penang Beaches for Running

Batu Ferringhi Beach. Wikimedia Commons

There are numerous beaches located on the island of Penang. Here are our recommendations for the most suitable for running. The best: Batu Ferringhi Beach.

Batu Ferringhi Beach. Located on Penang north coast, this is one of the most popular beaches on the island. It’s 2 km long and fairly wide, making it one of the best beaches on Penang for running.

Teluk Bahang Beach. Also located on the northern coast. Popular, but it’s narrower and not quite as seamlessly sandy as Batu Ferringhi Beach, which is 4 km to the west. It’s 1.5 km long, including a jetty on the beach’s western end.

Monkey Beach Banana. A beach that is a destination for hikers and walkers, and part of our Penang National Park route. The beach itself is scenic, but quite narrow and not great for running.

Pantai Keracut and Teluk Kampi. On Penang’s west coast, these scenic and secluded beaches are destinations for hikers in Penang National Park.  Each is lovely for running, but only 0.5 km long.
