Near Václav Havel Airport: Sarka – Lysolaje Natural Park

Aktron / Wikimedia Commons.

Sarka – Lysolaje Natural Park is a large, peaceful nature preserve in the Prague 6 residential area, near the Václav Havel Airport. There’s a large variety of waking and hiking trails that offer something for all running abilities. Climb some of the short hills for some nice views from the craggy rocks into the verdant valley. In the valley itself, the area closer to the tram stop, there are lovely, wide trails through wooded and open areas, and some trails along the Šárka Stream. Some sections are narrower and more rugged, while there are also easier paved trails. It’s a mix!

It’s ~4 km between the eastern and western ends of the park. Best public transport access is via the bus and tram lines that run along Evropská on the south side of the park.  There are two public swimming pools, with pubs nearby, making for a lovely post-run dip & sip!

STAY: There are hotels in the Ruzyně area near the airport and Divoka Sarka
