EUR Area: Parks Route Near the La Nuvola Convention Center

EUR (Esposizione Universale Roma) is a business district in southern Rome, known for its monumental Fascist-era architecture. There are wide boulevards, large fountains, and imposing buildings. Also located in EUR is the La Nuvola, the major convention center of Rome. For those staying in this area, there’s some very nice running in three medium-sized parks coming off the Via Cristoforo Colombo: Parco del Lago dell’EUR, Parco degli Eucalipti, & Parco del Ninfeo. Create your own route, using Via Cristoforo Colombo as an anchor, or use our mapped ~10 km route as a guideline.

Start on Via Cristoforo Colombo near the Marconi Obelisk. Do a ~2 km loop around Parco del Lago dell’EUR, which features lovely walking paths along an artificial lake and the Giardino delle Cascate. Head back north along V., Cristoforo Colombo, turning RIGHT through the Museum of Roman Civilization (Museo delle Civiltà) complex into Parco degli Eucalipti. It’s a 1.5 km loop on leafy paths through this park, which was once the medicinal garden of the nearby Tre Fontane monastery. Then, head west on the wide Viale della Civiltà del Lavoro for 1 km into the Parco del Ninfeo, another leafy park with pleasant walking paths and featuring the fountain of the Nymphaeum.
