This run is a scenic tour of Marion — a South Coast region town of 5,000 near Cape Cod. It’s small, affluent town, home to the Tabor Academy private high school and lovely, historic homes. This route is a mix of waterfront, residential neighborhood, and the Tabor campus, a classic New England prep school which features nice buildings, athletic fields, and an excellent running track.

Start on Front St. at Old Landing Wharf near the Tabor campus. Run south for 1.4 miles along Front St. and Water St. to Silvershell Beach. There are some occasional water views and nice homes to look at. Silvershell Beach is a nice place for a dip — not really a runnable beach. For the return, use Cove St. or Zora St. to Converse Rd. Then, use Converse and Front St. (or Pleasant St.) to head back north. You can add with some of the side streets between Water St. & Pleasant St. At the 3-mile mark, it’s fun to run up historic Main St., which features a mix of homes and small shops. Use SpringSt. to run through the heart of the Tabor campus. Just off Spring St. at the Wickenden Chapel is a running track

Add-Ons: Quiet neighborhood streets east of Rt. 6. At Silvershell Beach, you can also add 1 mile south along Converse St. until a private gate. It’s a quiet, tree-lined road.
