Telluride Bike Path

The best long off-road option for running in Telluride that’s not a trail run is the asphalt bike path along Route 145. Runners can pick up the path on the west end of Western Colorado Ave. Not long after, the path leaves downtown, traveling west to the roundabout where 145 splits toward Mountain Village. It’s just over 5 km one-way, so it’s a near-perfect 10 km out and back. There are great mountain views the whole way.

For a more adventurous option, combine the bike path with the Valley Floor Trail and the San Miguel River Trail for a 6.6 mile loop. These dirt singletracks are flat and easygoing (when the weather is dry) so it’s a perfect introduction to the local trails. Other good add-ons include our Downtown Tour and the Galloping Goose Trail
