Galloping Goose follows an old railroad line along the San Miguel River for roughly 20 miles. Runners can start at any of the trailheads, but the closest start to town is San Miguel River Road. We’ve mapped a route for 5 km to Illium, which is the most common turn-around point. (The trail is not well-mapped past here). The path is smooth and non-technical for most of the way. For more mileage, add on the Telluride Bike Path or the Valley Floor Trail.
