Secor Metropark

Secor Metropark, located 15 miles west of Toledo in Berkey, is among the more scenic of the city’s numerous parks. There’s tall timber, rolling sandy areas, meadows, prairies and northwest Ohio’s largest concentration of native dogwood.

For running, there’s a nice mix of trails. Easiest is the 2.8 mile Secor All Purpose Trail, which weaves around the perimeter of the park on a fine crushed gravel surface. The scenic 1.9 mile Mosley Trail, heads south into the Irwin Prairie State Nature Preserve (with plans to extend). There are also 3-4 miles of wooded trails that are easy to moderate trail running. The trails are well waymarked and there are kiosk maps in the park.

Essentials
  • 2.8 mile multi-use trail loop and 3-4 miles of wooded trails
  • Depends on trail chosen. Secor Center is the start point for the All Purpose Trail
  • Several access points and parking areas
