Swan Creek Preserve Metropark

Metroparks Toledo

The 441-acre Swan Creek Metropark, located in south Toledo, is another of the city’s pleasant parks for running. The terrain is mainly wooded, though there are a few open meadows and some nice views of Swan Creek. The park is also known for its spring wildflowers.

For running, there’s a nice mix. At the western end of the park, there’s a 5 km paved loop trail, through a combination of wooded and open terrain. At the eastern end are more wooded trails. where one can add 3-4 miles.

Essentials
  • 5 km paved loop trail, and 3-4 miles of wooded trails at the east end
  • Depends on trail chosen. Start point for 5k loop is at Mary Jane Gil Shelter
  • Parking lots near Glendale Ave. entrance and Airport Highway entrance
