River view from Walbridge Park. Google Street View
Start with an 0.75 mile loop on the perimeter path of Woodsdale Park, located just west of the Zoo. It’s open and green. Then, take the cycle path alongside SR 25 for 0.3 miles to Amherst Dr., turning RIGHT to head south into the riverside Walbridge Park. This is the historic Harvard Terrace neighborhood, where you can add with other pleasant, tree-shaded streets with older set-back homes. Do the ~1 mile loop on the park’s pleasant paths, turning RIGHT to head north on Harvard Blvd., a wide, tree-shaded road through the historic neighborhood. Just past Woodsdale Park, turn RIGHT on Spencer St., and then enjoy the lovely streets of the Southside/Highland Park neighborhood, and the small but pretty Highland Park. All of the streets between SR 24 and SR 25 and north to Highland Park are nice for running.
