In the western part of Toledo, one can put together a run of many miles combining the pleasant campus of the University of Toledo, the riverside Ottawa Park, and additional multi-use trails in the area.

The anchor of the route is the path along the Ottawa River. The paved multi-use path runs for 2.1 miles from Bancroft St. to the I-75/475 interchange, passing through Ottawa Park, Jemain Park, and Beatty Park. It’s a nice ribbon of green, combination of open & wooded, with some water views.

Just west of Bancroft St. is the north entrance to the University of Toledo, which features a nice network of pedestrian paths around campus. There’s a running track at the Fetterman Training Center on the south side of the river.

Add-Ons: For an even longer run, connect to the University Parks Trail at Carter Field at the southern end of campus. This paved multi-use path runs for 7 miles west to Silica (it’s 3.8 miles to Wildwood Preserve Metropark).
