This is a gorgeous coastal run along the Great Harbour Way along the east side of Wellington Harbour. It’s a wide, gravel, car-free path, with great harbour views the whole way. It’s HILLY — defining the term ‘rolling hills’! The full route is 13.4 km one-way to Baring Head Lighthouse, but choose any distance for a great out and back.

3.4 km Hinds Point Lighthouse.
6.7 km Pencarrow Lighthouse is 6.7 km, but continues for up to 13.4 km to Baring Head Lighthouse
7.2 km Lion’s Rock
11 km East Habour Regional Park/Wainuiomata Beach
13.4 km Baring Head Lighthouse
At the road’s end, begin your run at Burden’s Gate in Eastbourne. Follow the path along the coastline to enjoy spectacular vistas and coastal winds. There are interpretive signs along the way. It’s a wide, gravel, car-free path — defining the term ‘rolling hills’! Great views of Wellington Harbour the entire way. At 3.4 km is Hinds Point Lighthouse.
