Baytown is located across the San Jacinto Bay about 30 minutes to the east of Houston. There are some nice waterfront running options to check out.
Goose Creek Trail: The centerpiece of running in Baytown is the verdant Goose Creek Trail, which runs mainly between West Fork of Goose Creek Park and Bayland Park. Routes can reach up to 5 miles one way. There are great water views. Route MAP.
Brownwood: This neighborhood along the Crystal Bay is one of the most fun waterfront runs in the greater Houston area. Runners can make a 4.5 mile loop from a combination of asphalt roads, dirt pathways, and scenic boardwalks . Pleasantly green, with beautiful water views. ROUTE MAP.
Note: Don’t be tempted by Bayway Dr. between Bayland Park and Brownwood. It’s ugly and industrial.
