Modeled after one of the premier architectural features of Seville, the Plaza is both an artistic and architectural delight. With nine ornate domed buildings and clock towers, elaborate fountains, 40 pieces of outdoor sculpture and statuary, pastel stucco walls and tiled roofs, the  best running routes in Kansas City spin outward from the Plaza.

This route is a good way to explore the Plaza area. Take a path for ~1 mile north along Mill Creek Park to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fountain, passing the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art and grounds. Then, take the Brush Creek trail along the creek for 0.75 miles to Wornell, and run south along the road (decent sidewalk) for 0.4 miles to Jacob L. Loose Park. There,  you can enjoy a trio of running paths including paved 1.05, and 1.25, mile inner loops, a grassy 1.5 mile circuit that traces the outer perimeter, and several challenging uphills.
