This is another pleasant run in east Berlin, taking in the trails along the Landwehr Canal and Görlitzer Park. The dirt path goes along the water here, with weeping willows and nice water views. There are beer gardens, restaurants, and cafes along Maybach-Ufer or Paul-Lincke-Ufer. Pro Tip: Especially nice at sunset.

Our 10k out & back route starts at Lindenstraße near the Hallesches Tor U-Bahn station. Head east along the south bank of the canal for 3 km (running track at Sportanlage Maybachufer at the 3k mark), continuing it into Görlitzer Park, with its big open fields and paths. Loop back along the north bank.

Add-Ons. Many options to add on here:
  • At the Admiralbrücke, add on with a nice 1.5 km jaunt through the linear Wassertorplatz park to Engelbecken, with its nice views of a lake and St. Michael’s Church
  • Also at Admiralbrücke, good connection 1 km south to Volkspark Hasenheide, which has several km of nice running paths, and the adjacent Tempelhofer Feld — a wide open park on the site of the former airport
  • Treptower Park is ~1 km east of Görlitzer Park.
  • Park am Gleisdreieck, a rather new park on the site of a former railbed, is located 1.5 west of Hallesches Tor, using a good canal-side sidewalk. There are east & west sections, with ~3 km of running possible here. From Park am Gleisdreieck, a linear park type path heads north to Potsdamer Platz and important sites on our Berlin ‘runseeing’ tour.
