Astoria Park is a wonderful resource for Queens runners and those Manhattanites willing to cross the Triborough Bridge. You’ll experience the wonderful view of the city skyline and Triborough Bridge and the ambiance that park running provides. In addition, there is Queens’ largest public swimming pool, which was host to the Olympic Trials in 1936 and 1964. There’s also a 400m running track at the south end of the park, Access is via the N or Q trains to Astoria Blvd Station.
We’ve mapped a 3.2 mile out and back from Astoria Blvd Station to the park and along the waterfront path. You can make it a ~4-miler by adding some of the park’s interior paths.
Add-Ons: Take a jaunt over to Randall’s Island to enjoy its 10 miles of trails passing 330 acres of parkland, 60+ athletic fields, and a running track at Icahn Stadium. Great views! There’s a pedestrian walkway across the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge.
