Bartram Trail

A great trail running destination, located about 20 miles northwest of Augusta. The 27-mile,  yellow-blazed Bartram Trail hugs the coast of J. Strom Thurmond Lake. But you don’t have to run the whole thing! There are parking areas at distinct sections: West Dam Recreation Area, Lake Springs Recreation Area, Petersburg Campground, Wildwood Park, or Keg Creek. Most of the trail is easy-going, although there are some rolling hills and slightly technical sections. There are some great waterfront views in sections.

This excellent trail map shows the trail and also the specific areas and segment disrances  It’s 7.4 miles from Keg Creek Drive to Wildwood Park, 9 miles from Wildwood Park to Petersburg Road, 8 miles from Petersburg Road to Lake Springs Road, and 2.6 miles from Lake Springs Road to West Dam Recreation Area.
