The lakefront paths at Louisiana State University (known as the ‘LSU Lakes’) are among the most scenic and popular places to run in Baton Rouge. The lakes are just east of the main LSU campus, and just south of I-10. The main loop around University Lake is nearly 4 miles, which can be added onto with a ~1.5 mile loop around City Park Lake. There’s a paved multi-use path for part of the way, while in other sections, follow the wide sidewalk along Lakeshore Dr. Nice water views and lots of runners!
Add-Ons: At the north end of City Park Lake, add ~0.5 miles of paths in Brooks Park. Also, just west of University Lake, add on with paths around the LSU campus.
- 5.5 mile (8.9 km) loop, combining University Lake & City Park Lake.
- 89 feet (27m)
- LSU Lakes Exercising Training Spot, off Dalrymple Dr., just east of LSU campus
