Baton Rouge, LA

Great Baton Rouge Neighborhoods for Running

CC 2.0

Baton Rouge has some lovely neighborhoods for running, with lovely homes on streets graced by live oaks. Here are some of favorites:

Spanish Town Historic District. Downtown, between the Capitol and I-110. Nice, tree-lined streets with older homes.

Oak Hills/Villa St. George.  Pleasant residential neighborhood running in Village St George, just north of Highland Rd. There are wide streets with sidewalks and set back homes. Nice to combine with Highland Road Community Park, which has paths and popular cross-country courses of 5k, 6k, & 8k.

Even nicer are the wide, quiet, tree-lined streets of the Oak Hills neighborhood, located west of Route 3246. Make sure you incorporate the Hilltop Arboretum, off Highland Rd. or Court St.

Settlements Area. Some pleasant residential streets off Perkins Rd./Settlement Rd. in South Baton Rouge, just south of the Mall of Louisiana. For post-run eats & shopping, the upscale Perkins Rowe is nearby.
