Atlanta, Georgia

Buckhead Area

Buckhead is the most prestigious neighborhood in greater Atlanta, with gracious older homes, winding residential streets, and a few green spaces. It’s a large area, geographically, and quite hilly. There are also lots of roads that aren’t great for running (wide, with lots of traffic and no sidewalks). Our suggestions for running in Buckhead. See also our route in North Atlanta, including  Perimeter Center, Dunwoody or Sandy Springs.

Chastain Park. Atlanta’s third largest park and Buckhead’s premier park, at 268 acres. Off Roswell Rd. in the northern part of Buckhead and just inside I-285. Paved, marked trails: two 5k loops (red and blue) and a 3k “yellow” loop. Bonus: Lights along the loop around North Fulton Golf Course. TRAIL MAP

Beltline Northside Trail. Run between Ardmore Park and Memorial Park, using the 1-mile BeltLine Northside Trail, and add with some of the pleasant residential side streets. TRAIL MAP

Path 400. A paved greenway path connecting offices, stores, and neighborhoods in central Buckhead. 3.8  miles of the planned 5.2 miles are complete.  See our ROUTE there.
