Fort Worth Southside Running Options

Creative Commons

There is some very nice running in the south part of Fort Worth, defined as the area south of I-30. Some favorite options, which can be combined in various ways.

Southside Residential. Lovely running in the Fairmount-Southside Historic District, featuring tree-lined streets and historic homes. Put together your own route, between W. Magnolia Ave. &  W. Jessamine St. north-south and west of I-35 all the way to Park Hill/Zoo.

Clear Fork Trinity River Path Headed South. In the Southside part of Fort Worth, there’s a path on both sides of the river from Fort Worth Zoo/ University Park Village south for 5 miles to Highway 183. A favorite 3-mile section among local run clubs is from University Park Village to the Press Cafe. Can combine with Overton Park route, below. ROUTE MAP

Overton Park to Kellis Park. 2.7 miles one-way. Just west of Texas Christian University, a paved 2.7-mile multi-use path connects several parks. The starts at Overton Park, and runs south through Hartwood Park, Foster Park, and Kellis Park. Good shade option in summer. Can combine with Trinity River path, above. ROUTE MAP
